ICPC Global Comparison of Repair Commencement Times

Updated Friday 28 August 2026

The ICPC Global Comparison of Repair Commencement Times provides a unique global analysis of submarine cable repair response times, drawing on anonymised data contributed by Cable Maintenance Agreements and repair authorities from around the world. The report has been developed to support engagement with governments and regulators, encouraging more efficient repair permitting processes and reducing unnecessary delays to the restoration of critical international communications infrastructure.

In addition to comparing repair commencement times across jurisdictions, the report includes analysis of the principal causes of submarine cable faults, providing valuable insight into trends in cable damage and the operational challenges faced by the industry.

To protect commercially sensitive information, all data is anonymised and presented in aggregate form. The report does not identify individual cable systems, repairs or operators.

If you would like to receive a copy of the report, please complete the request form below. Requests are reviewed by the ICPC Secretariat, and the report is provided subject to the ICPC's conditions of use.
